Outreach Committee: RUC’s Outreach Committee is excited to be working once again with the Inner City Pastoral Ministry on June 17th. On this Father’s Day morning, we are going to provide and serve lunch to approximately 300 inner city residents at the Bissell Centre. There are two ways that you can help:

a) Donate FOOD. If you would like to donate sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, or desserts, please sign up on the sheets provided in the narthex. We are most in need of uncut sandwiches. Please drop your donations at the church on Saturday, June 16th between 9:00 am and noon, or before 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 17th. We have limited fridge space so it is especially appreciated if sandwiches are dropped off on Sunday morning.

b) Help SERVE lunch at the Bissell Centre on Sunday, June 17th. We will meet at Riverbend United Church at 8:15 a.m. to load up our vehicles with food and will then make our way to the Bissell Centre. When we arrive, we will be assigned jobs by the staff of the Inner City Pastoral Ministry and will attend their church service. Youth are welcome to help out, but we are asked not to bring children. Lunch is usually over by 1:30 p.m. Casual clothes work best.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Joan Robinson at 780.988.9325 (jr3@ualberta.ca) or Judi Cook at 780.435.0838 (cookjudi@gmail.com).
