It
is a pleasure to bring the 2009 Seniors Housing Forum to your attention. The
Seniors Housing Forum is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2009, 8:30AM – 2:30 PM at the Central Lions Senior
Citizens’ Recreation Centre, 11113 113 St., Edmonton. It is an informative,
free event designed to provide seniors and caregivers an excellent opportunity
to learn more about seniors housing and resources that support older adults in
their homes. More information is available on the health bulletin board in the
church narthex or on the website: http://seniorshousingforum.blogspot.com. In the past, people
interested in participated have car pooled from the Riverbend area. Perhaps
that could again be arranged if you let me know that you are intending to
participate.

Flu Season Again!
This
fall more than ever, hand washing is critical to your health and wellbeing and
the health of others. Hand-washing is so simple yet one of the most health
promoting actions one can take. Proper hand-washing involves soap (any kind)
and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Rub your hands vigorously under hot
water for at least 15 seconds....the time it takes you to sing
“Happy Birthday to You”. And when you are in the church building, remember to
use the hand sanitizers strategically placed around the church. The one in the
front entry can easily be used as you enter and leave the church building.
Another hand sanitizer is in the nursery and there is one in the kitchen area.
Especially during this fall flu season, we want to only greet one another with
clean hands!
If
you feel unwell this fall, please do yourself and everyone else a favour by
refraining from attending church related events or other places where you might
expose others to the possibility of getting ill as well. Thank you for taking
good care of yourself and others!
