Bethlehem Lutheran Ministries
Church of Follow the Star

To fulfill our vision as a Resource Center for the Santa Clarita Valley, we have listed some local resources and organizations that Bethlehem Lutheran Ministries supports or sponsors. Some are actually on our campus, while others are an outreach in our community that we support through campus space rental, donations and/or volunteer efforts.

Lutheran Social Services - Community Care Center
Lutheran Social Services of Southern California celebrates the love of Christ for all people through acts of service.

LSS/SC has served in communities to help the homeless, the abused, and the frail. It is through this ministry that hundreds of thousands of people and their families are aided each year. Our ministry reaches those in need of counseling, emergency services, job training, transitional housing, help for the elderly, utility assistance, and much more. In every community which LSS serves, there are works to be done and wounds to be healed. In each of our hearts there is the power to do it. For more than 61 years, LSS/SC has provided service in the name of the Lutheran Church of America and its members.

Santa Clarita Valley Emergency Winter Shelter
As one of the fastest-growing communities in the United States, the Santa Clarita Valley is increasingly challenged to fund the social services required by its rapidly developing society. With public funds scarce for social programs, the Santa Clarita Community Development Corporation (SCCDC) has taken a primary role in meeting the needs of the hungry and homeless in this community. The principal activity of the SCCDC is the operation of its Santa Clarita Emergency Winter Shelter (EWS). The EWS assists people with the help they need to improve their individual or family circumstances.

Open from approximately Dec.1 through March 15 each year, the EWS, located at 26201 Golden Valley Road, provides shelter, food, clothing, medical and mental services as well as other assistance and referrals to its clients.

Please visit their website for more information and a list of items urgently needed to help support this important community service.

Child SHARE
Child SHARE (Shelter Homes: A Rescue Effort) was founded by Dr. Mary Rotzien in 1985 with seed funding and key leadership from Westwood Presbyterian Church. The program was a direct response to thousands of foster children, including infants and toddlers, languishing in institutional care in Los Angeles. Convinced that the faith community could provide families for these children, Child SHARE began building a "wrap around" ministry with foster parents, respite homes, babysitters and volunteers from local churches.

Today, Child SHARE works with over 400 local congregations representing 30 denominations to find families and friends for abused children

Santa Clarita Valley Community Church
We call ourselves Christian because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. We recognize as fellow-Christians all people who accept the teachings of the Bible as summarized in the Apostles’ Creed. Reformed because we're part of that historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of 16th-century reformer John Calvin, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Church because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world. We often call ourselves "the CRC" for short.  CLASSIS GLA is the regional grouping of churches in the greater Los Angeles area. It consists of 41 churches with 6995 members.  Members of our churches confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
