ECCE’s New Program Year
Sunday, September 13th, 9:15 AM ; Adult Breakfast Study, The Parables of Jesus . We are beginning with a new study; all are welcome to attend. A light continental breakfast is served at 9:15, and the formal study begins at 9:30. Every week studies a different story, so come when you can!
Sunday, September 13th, 10:30 AM : Worship, with choir. It was discussed in Worship Committee and in Council about coaching a new habit in our congregation; that we keep our visiting to the narthex and that when we enter the sanctuary we should quiet our hearts and allow the prelude music to draw us into an attitude of worship. Although this will take some encouragement and patience, perhaps you can decide for yourself to model that behavior starting this Sunday .
Sunday, September 13th , Children's Church, during Worship is launching again with organized lessons starting this Sunday. Nursery Care will be available from children through 2 years. Preschool through Kindergarten will meet in the Preschool room, with Jeff and Val Lennard. Primary-age children from first through fourth grades will meet in the Children's Church room in the basement. Kids above fifth grade are invited to remain in the sanctuary with the adults.
Sunday, September 13th, 5 PM : Bringing My World to Christ Prayer Meeting . Please come and pray for a lost and hurting world, and many people dear to our hearts who do not yet have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Sunday, September 13th, 6:30 PM : Confirmation , geared for Junior High students as a regular weekly study in the Bible and Christian faith over two program years. This year Confirmation will be taught on location at Elgin Covenant Church.
Wednesday, September 16th, : The Men's Prayer Breakfast which has continued through the summer, is now changed in location back to the pastor's home, 17 North Commonwealth, for the duration of the school year.
Wednesday, September 16th, : $2 dinner begins again. At this first dinner an announcement and details will be given for a possible adult-centered midweek lesson to be held, starting September 23rd, on Wednesdays from to . (Details below)
Thursday, September 17th, : Coffee House, this will already be our second week of serving
Sunday, September 20th, Congregation Chat and meeting after church. The main items for action are the approval of a youth ministry internship and then the extention of an invitation to Steve Linde to take that role. The agenda has been distributed to the church. Topics for chat will encompass a direction for publicity.
