WE CELEBRATE GOD’S PRESENCE
Prelude Mary Ellen Gillman/Matt Trossman
The Light is Brought to the Altar
Call to Worship
The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! Clouds and thick darkness are all around Him. God’s lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim God’s righteousness, and all the peoples behold God’s glory.
Hymn When Morning Gilds the Skies Page 185 (Vss. 1 & 4)
Invocation
We praise You this morning as the God who cannot be comprehended by the most brilliant of minds, who cannot be explained by the most complicated of mathematical formulas, who cannot be confined by the limitations of time and space, who cannot be described by the most insightful of theologians, yet who is honored by the song of childhood, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” Amen.

Come, my Light, and illumine my darkness. Come, my Life, and revive me from death. Come, my Physician, and heal my wounds. Come, Flame of divine love, and burn up the thorns of my sins, kindling my heart with the flame of Your love. For You alone are my King and my Lord. Amen.

Scripture Matthew 6:25-34
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
The flowers this Sunday are given by Esther Prakel.
Volunteers are needed to help with decorating the Church Sanctuary and the Wesley Chapel with Christmas decorations to get ready for the Hanging of the Green Service. Thank you to all who donated baked goods and crafts for the Country Store. The youth appreciate all of your support. This year the youth decided to donate the money to Heifer Interantional. And has asked the Michel Fund to match this donation. If you are not familiar with Heifer International it is the opportunity to purchase animals to be placed in a poverty stricken village. This enables a family in the village to provide milk or eggs to their family, neighbors and left overs are sold to provide income. Once the animal reproduces the family gives the baby animals to other needy families in the village. Eventually the entire village will be blessed with an animal reducing starvation and poverty in the village.
