Batesville United Methodist Church
Making Disciples of Jesus Christ

I am so grateful for God's giving spirit that exists in our Church.  Here are some examples of this spirit over the past several months:

  • Four large containers of new socks and underwear for the homeless of Indianapolis.
  • $1800 to UMCOR for Haiti Relief.
  • Very generous support for our local food pantry (money and food donations, along with on-site help).
  • Extra support ($500) for the shortfall situation of our primary mission outreach (Wertz's Joy in the Harvest in Tanzania).
  • UMW-sponsored project (led by Linda Schumacher) to supply 69 health care kits for Haiti relief.
  • Adult Sunday School sponsorship of a student to attend the Ilula Orphan Program in Tanzania.
  • Individual sponsorship of 3 other students in the Ilula Orphan Program.
  • Exceeding the Faith Promise Mission funding goal of $10,000 by 2%.

Unfortunately, the planned Haitian trip by Nance Widdowson and Bill & Carlene Bate had to be cancelled because of the chaotic situation in Haiti.  However, planning for the Outreach visit to the Joy in the Harvest Mission in early 2011 is now underway and will continue with monthly meetings for anyone interested.  The next scheduled meeting is March 8th at 6:30 p.m. at the Church.

May God's Holy Spirit continue to be a strong force among the people of our Church!
