Dr. Jim McReynolds will be preaching at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. The church's vision is to create an atmosphere where joy and miracles happen. First Christian Church is located north of U.S. Post Office in Weeping Water, 10 miles east of Elmwood. Sunday School for all ages is held at 9:30 a.m., Sundays.

What to expect from Pastor Jim:

Healthy Boundaries:

     Healthy self-care.

     Ability to form meaningful relationships beyond professional relationships with parishioners and other colleagues.

     Ability to lead others without forming destructive dual relationships.

     Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries sdeparating personal and professional life.

    Ability to maintain control of his weight, healthy diet, and self care.

Leadership Skills/Administrative Abilities

    Ability to lead beyond maintenance to mission in the world.

    Ability to lead congregation to give to mission causes and special offerings.

    Ability to lead others without attempting to control or coerce them.   

    Ability to effectively use a variety of styles o leadership.

    Ability to be assertive without becoming aggressive.

    Competence in ethical practice of pastoral care and leadership.

    Ability to manage the administrative and financial dimensions of church leadership.

    Ability to seek consultation and supervision when necessary. 

Relational Skills

     Good interpersonal kills in relationships with church members.

    Ability to welcome, value, and understand diversity and difference.

    Ability to care for and be responsive to the needs of others.

    Ability to use inclusive language in writing and speaking.

    Ability to maintain healthy and successful relationships with my wife Laurel and my children and grandchildren.

    Ability to encourage and equip lay ministry.

           Ability to lead in humble leadership being radically open to God's guidance and grace.

          Ability to do annual continuing education to update ministry skills and to be aware of latest trends and methods in ministry.
