We realize the call to minister to those suffering from physical and mental illness. Our pastor received the Saint Joseph Mental Health Association Award in 1983 for his service to families, creation of mental health ministries in local congregations, serving as an advocate for an effective and readily accessible community mental health system, serving as member of the Nebraska Mental Health Association State Board of Directors, support group leader, and speaker at many national conventions of mental health and spirituality groups.
His book, Dancing With Bipolar Bears: Living in Joy Despite Illness, with forward by one of his professors at Vanderbilt University Divinity School, John Killinger, has blessed thousands of families and individuals, and challenges the church to minister in caring communities and gives individuals and families hope for living normal lives.
