YOUTH

Mission Statement: Our church community is committed to the religious education of area children and youth. We offer the following programs for members and nonmembers alike:

Sunday Programs

We have nursery care available during the church service, appropriate for babies, toddlers and children up to age 3.

Junior Church for children age 4 and older begins in the worship service at 10 am. They may participate with the Pastor in the children's message and then leave the adult service to attend their own session in the church school area behind the fellowship room.

During this time the children hear a Bible story and do an activity which reinforces the lesson.

Junior Choir

Open to all youth from the community who want to participate.   Reherses after church Sunday morning from 11:00 - 11:30 am.

Children's Day Service & Picnic

The first Sunday in June is dedicated to a Church service presented by the young people. This is followed by a picnic and games at Camp Wakuta on Shaw Pond (former site of a youth camp developed by Rev. George Davidson, past pastor of the Freedom Church). All friends and members of the Church are welcome.
NOTE:  In 2008 the picnic will be combined with the 150th. Anniversary Celebration of the church on Saturday, June 14.

Scholarships for College Students

Each year several $700 - $800 scholarships are awarded to Freedom area students from a memorial fund established several years ago. Applications may be obtained from the Kennett Regional High School. Recipients will be selected by a committee of church members.
