Condit Presbyterian Church

Ash Wednesday Services will not be held at Condit due to weather conditions. A devotion is posted on the Lent and Easter page for those who wish to observe the day in their homes.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is already on the ground in Haiti. Aid is being sent via ecumenical and local partners who were there before the earthquake.

The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Haiti Response site is:

http://www.pcusa.org/pda/response/latinamerica/haiti-index.htm

You may donate directly on the website or you may donate through the Sunday Offering by writing PDA Haiti on your check or envelope.

Facing the east is Condit's largest stained glass window commemorating Charter Members Alvin P. Condit and Edgar M. Condit.  It is affectionately know as the Jesus Window. Depicting Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane while his three Disciples fall asleep in the background, this poignant scene has offered comfort and peace to worshippers through the years.  Above Jesus are the Chalice (Cup) and the Wafer (Bread) interwinded by the Vine of Life and Jesus' words of his prayer in Luke 22:42 "Nevertheless, not my will but thine be done."  The rich colors remind us of the tremendouse price Jesus paid for all people when he drank the cup and faced his death on Good Friday's Cross.  Under the scene are the four trefoil panels representing the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John where we read the "Good News of Jesus Christ."  The final word represented on two side panels each holding a branch of three lilies:
Easter's Sign is Resurrection!
Alleluia! Christ has risen!
We serve a Living Savior!

Thanks be to God for Condit's Stained Glass Heritage!
