Condit Presbyterian Church

Welcome to the Web-site of Condit Presbyterian Church!  Our electronic presence is recent; but Condit's roots reach back to the 1830's. Each Sunday morning, the "old steeple bell" rings its greeting to folks as they  gather to worship and to study the Bible together.

From varied occupations & wide-ranging ages, the Condit faith-family gathers. We cherish our "wee ones" with loving care. We honor our "elderly" who have   served this congregation and surrounding community so wisely and so well.       Our children and teenagers are actively involved in our church life; we foster       their faith development and leadership ability; their voices are heard! Linking    this "family" are young-adult and middle-aged men and women who provide     energy and insight for this congregation to do mission & ministry, to educate & to worship, through service & spirituality for our members, our friends & other folks we encounter in our daily living.

As the Psalmist declared:
"Let us hear what God will speak!  God will speak peace to the people,
to  faithful ones whose hearts turn to God."
Our response at Condit takes form as a prayer:
"Go with us, God, each day, each night. Give us Your truth, Your love & light.
Then, when our efforts go astray, return us to Your holy way."
So may it be! Amen.

Introducing Condit’s Interim Minister

Reverend Alexander McDougall

The interim search committee asked Rev. McDougall to provide a biography.

I was born and educated in Scotland and have served several churches as their installed minister in both Scotland and the United States. In fact, I arrived in Ohio when I was called to the New Church Development  in Dublin and stayed with that congregation until after they had built  and occupied their new sanctuary. Condit will be the eighth church I have served as an Interim Minister.

I am married and we have two children. Our daughter teaches in a college in Massachusetts and our son is a professional actor in London, England.

Interim ministry is both challenging and rewarding. It’s challenging because every congregation comes with its own past and its own hopes for the future. And it’s rewarding because we’re forever meeting new people and new situations.

I look forward to my ministry among you.

Reverend McDougall starts his work as our interim pastor on June 2, 2008. Sunday, June 8, will be his first worship service us. He will have office hours Monday through Thursday from 9:00AM to 12:00.

Come to Condit Church!  Be with us this Sunday!  Worship the God who breathed life into us!  Hear God’s Word for these days!  Sit in prayerful silence as Christ’s living body.  Respond to God’s blessings by offering yourself in mission and ministry for the world’s needs!  Then, leave the “safe-space” of Condit’s sanctuary to be Christ’s body with others in all places.

Come share our mission, our ministry, our lives!
