JOURNEY THRU LENT

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Come unto Me and rest. Lay down, dear weary one, lay down your head upon my chest."
I came to Jesus as I was, weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Behold, I freely give the living water -- thirsty one.  Stoop down, and drink, and live!"
I came to Jesus and I drank of that life-giving stream.
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"I am this dark world's light. Look unto me. Your morn shall rise, and all your day be bright."
I looked to Jesus, and I found in Him my star, my sun.
Yes, in that light of life I'll walk, 'til traveling days are done.

This is the season of Lent. Let us journey together.
We remember Jesus' journey to Jerusalem....we follow Him.
Through sacred Scripture, we follow the passion of Christ.
With hands and feet pledged to justice and reconciliation, we follow.
With hearts atuned to God's Holy Spirit, we pray and meditate on
God's utterly Amazing Grace!

May our minds be open; may our hands be strong;
May our hearts be gentle; may our spirits sing!
May this Lenten Journey transform us into true people of God.
~ ~ ~
 God sent God's Son into our world
not to condemn the world;
 Rather, God sent the Son to save the world
and ordinary, struggling folks like we who are living now.......
 Thanks be to God. Alleluia! Amen.

Gentle God, thank You for this Journey through Lent,
a journey which takes us through Galilee, through Your witness,
through all of life's highs and lows, and then some!
~
                   You provide for us with healing grace, with strength for the travel.
              You miraculously change our little gifts into "many loaves" to "feed others."
                                                                        ~ ~
 Thank You for Your Parables that stretch us,
the upper room Passover Supper and later suffering that make us whole,
Good Friday's cross, the tomb, and Heaven that call us forward.
       ~ ~ ~
Gentle God, thank You for the love that never ends,
shown to us in Jesus who became the Christ for us, for all people!
AMEN!!!!!

The Lord said through the prophet Joel:

"It is not too late. You can still return to Me with your whole heart.Turn back to Me with a sincere and humble heart. Place your trust in My mercy.

I am merciful, kind and caring. I do not easily lose My temper. I do not like to punish. For I am the LORD your God. When I treat you with mercy, you truly will be blessed. I, the LORD, have spoken.  So may it be."

From the pages of the New Testament:

Now, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

What then can we add? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who or what can separate us from God's love fleshed out for us in Jesus the Christ. Shall troubles or distress? Shall persecution or hunger? Shall danger or death?

No, my friends. In all these things we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ who loves us!

For I am sure that neither death, nor life...no angels, no governments,  nothing present, nothing yet to come, no power, no height, no depth,  nothing else in all creation.....nothing will be able to separate us from God's Love in Jesus Christ, our Savior.
