Taize Services

Taize-style prayer services are offered occasionally on Wednesday evenings. We will plan on offering them again during Lent. Watch for more information.

The ecumenical Christian community in Taize, France, draws thousands of pilgrims each year to learn about their mission of prayer, simplicity, service and reconciliation. 

The simple music, scriptures, prayers, and slow pace of the Taize service invites us into communion with God.  We are gathered in the presence of Christ, uncluttered by a lot of words, making space to become more aware of the mystery of God.  Lighted candles remind us that even when we are surrounded by darkness in our personal life or in the life of the human community, Christ's love is a fire that never goes out.
