Our Mission

It is our mission to be a ministering body of Christ who,
under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, proclaims the
good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, teaches
the essentials of the Christian life as revealed in God's
Holy Word, nurtures Christian growth through worship,
teaching, training, and fellowship and ministers to the
needs of all of God's creatures.

Welcome to Williams Memorial CME Temple Online. The purpose of our web site is to help visitors discover The Temple, learn more about the people called Methodist, as well as provide a place for our members to keep informed about the ongoing ministries and special events that are taking place within our church family.

Take some time and find out what is happening around The Temple. You can check on individual ministries, take note of the latest news and calendar of events, or read about our history.

The Temple is located near downtown Shreveport, close to the Shreveport City Court and Police Station. You will find that our members are not only involved in our church, but also very active in the Shreveport community. Our congregation is made up of individuals and families from throughout the Shreveport/Bossier City area.

Our worship experiences are designed to present the Word of God as true and accurate. The music we sing will range from praise, gospel to traditional anthems and hymns that reflect our heritage. Our Ministries for Children and Youth are vibrant and exciting. Our goal is not only to teach you God's Word, but also more importantly assist you as you take God's Word off the pages of your Bible, and put it into practice in your daily life.

Our church desires to provide a spiritual family for you. We want to help you in any way we can in your personal walk with God. We also want to provide you with areas of ministry where God can use your gifts and talents.

We welcome the opportunity to have you visit us and we look forward to seeing you soon.

First Impressions

First Impressions serve a vital role in the ministry of our church.
This ministry of hospitality strives to make a lasting first impression
on our guests and visitors. It is comprised of the following individual ministries:

  • Greeters Ministry
Our greeters are our first impression people. They welcome all that come through the doors of The Temple with a smile, a handshake and/or a hug. Need directions or information? They are there ready to provide you information about our church and our facilities.

  • Ushers Ministry
Need Help? See our men and women in black and white. They are our ushers. They assist with seating people, receiving the tithes and offerings, and maintaining order during services.
